Hi Nathan, you say the branch line terminus give you inspiration, perhaps the following pictures may be of interest. Cotton Lane measures 4'2"x1' with the fiddleyard bringing the length up to 7'.

As can be seen from the trackplan it is a fairly simple layout with just four sets of points. The fiddleyard is just a straight piece of track but a Peco loco lift is used to speed up transfer of stock for the next train.

The layout will be on show at Stockport Guild Hall for the Wellspring exhibition on March 17th and 18th.
