I created a similar topic on the Nostalgia Forum on AtlasF1 seven years ago and it's still going strong. Whether it had anything to do with the topic is open to debate. What I do know is that it gives people a way to place a member's comments in context and hopefully better respect their point of view. It has also lead to some lasting friendships. So I will get this started with a little information about myself.

My name is as stated in my login. I am of Eurasian ancestry being of Dutch and Indonesian parentage or at least as we can best track down. I also have some Jewish Armenian blood hence the last name of David. I was born in Hilversum, The Netherlands and for reasons not understood by anyone else have remained a Dutch citizen even though I grew up in the United States. I am 54 years old and work as a Consultant helping large corporations manage their documents using a program called Documentum. My title is Senior Enterprise Content Management Architect if that means anything to anyone. I work approximately 10 months out of the year and travel the rest. I live in California with a wife who is Chinese and teenage son. I have lived in Germany and traveled all over Europe and parts of Asia, Australia and of Canada. Hopefully this has given me more of an international view of things though I'm sure my American bias has peeked out from time to time. Let me say a few words about that. Recently I have felt more like a stranger in my "own" land with the current political climate and religious fervency that seems about. Oh well the better reason to travel. You might be surprised to know that London is my favorite city of all and actually consider myself quite the anglophile, BBC History being one of my favorite magazines. How many other kids in the US grew up with Graham Hill as their hero?

Besides model railroading my other hobbies are travel, books, Formula 1, stamps, toy soldiers, slot cars and photography. I maintain a couple of websites, chief amongst them is Grand Prix History. I've been asked to assist in the moderation of MRF and am still feeling my way around. I model German trains, I guess from having lived in Germany, in N-Scale. In the short times I find myself at home I am building a small layout in my library. I have always been partial to passenger trains having spent a lot of my time in Germany riding those but find myself buying more and more freight wagons. While I do not collect British prototype I love British steam and make it a point to visit the UK every so often for the numerous preserved railroads that are available. In fact I'll be in the UK this February.

Well now that I have put everybody to sleep please add your own introductions either long or short to the mix.
