QUOTE (traingoddess @ 17 Feb 2008, 23:01) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Hi, can you run digital trains on an analogue track? I would like to buy the hornby pendolino but not sure if it will run with my analogue set. Has anyone had any problems with this set? many thanks
Yes you can,
digital decoders made in the last few years detect whether it's analogue (DC) or digital (DCC) automatically and run fine but some of the extra digital functions might not work on DC.
There was an issue with the lights not working on the Pendolino on DC but they are supposed to have sorted it out.
Just check if someone offers you an older DCC loco that it will run on DC too, sometimes it's just a matter of reprogramming the chip inside but you would need them to do it as you don't have DCC.
