Welcome aboard Steam Engines, thank God for yet another member who realizes what a real train is.
For anyone wondering, it burns COAL and emits STEAM.
Now now, stop frothing at the mouth all you post 1968 modellers, you know it's true.

surely a train is something that pulls coaches or goods wagons along a track, regardless of weather its steam, diesel or fairy dust power, its still a train.

Jeff,

Whats this mythical engine that you talk about? They must have been phased out 100+ years ago.

A train is a consist of propelled carriages along railway line...
The form of propulsion can be self-contained or by way of locomotive(s)

Forms of propulsion can include, and are not restricted to :
person, horse, water, (natural) gas, electric, steam, gravity, rope, chain, diesel, or combinations of those

Other (future) methods may include :
nuclear, solar, fuel-cell (hydrogen / water)

Any other method suggestions are welcome...
Please send these to GNER as they may need these for their next TOC application

Now don't get all technical on us M8.
A train is what you want it to be in this hobby. It's just that I want it to be a King class loco, painted green, pulling a rake of chocolate and cream coaches designed by a certain Mr Collett.

Personally I can't understand why anyone would want it to be anything else, but it's a free country, so let it be for you what you want it to be!!

Just a short note ali B, caol (correctly spelt COAL) was the magical black gold that the Welsh wizards pulled out of the ground. It had magical powers of releasing energy for all the rest of the world to use and become rich. Then a wicked witch called Margaret got envious of the magic held by people who thought she was s
t and banned it's production forever. So there!!
