Or you can have this for £75:-

Very collectable and rarely seen on Ebay.

I know which I would prefer!

And its two rail!

Now I don't know about the Marklin model but I do know that the Triang example is fan driven. There is no direct drive to the wheels so I suspect it is the only genuine turbo car present in this thread. The Marklin model has traction tyres!

The Battlespace Turbo Car is much, much faster and has a spike on the nose!

Is it a bird? Is it an aeroplane? It certainly isn't Superman. I know, ..... the old black and white Flash Gordon film serials used to have one of these complete with a sound decoder which went 'Aaaaarrrgh' or it might have been 'Ggrrrrrrh', but then so did everything else, probably only had one decoder. Loved the colour.

PS Why does the spell checker have trouble with my sound effects?

QUOTE The failure of the Rail Zeppelin has been attributed to everything from the dangers of using an open propeller in crowded railway stations

I have immediate visions of a certain fight scene in "Raiders of the Lost Ark"!

The other thing is Marklin did a 2 rail version so if you really want one with which to slice your finger with then go for that!

Marklin made 3 rail and 2 rail versions of this loco, the latter under the Hamo label. They also made a Z gauge version.

I have the Hamo version and a very nice model it is to.

I'm sure the propeller on the real one kept those on the platforms cool on a hot summers day!
