Hi all,

Back from my cruise on board Grand Princess. So here's some pictures:

Bergen, Norway - The Floibanen Funicular, Built in 1918, this metre-gauge funicular climbs 320 metres up Mount Floyen and was recently refurbished. Fuller details on http://www.floibanen.no

Belfast, Northern Ireland - Met a fellow modeller and we visited the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum at Cultra, near Belfast - Highly recommended!!! Followed by a tour along the coast to Bangor & Donaghadee and completed by a drive through Belfast - what a change!! I was there 25 years ago in very difficult times.

General View of one half of the Railway Gallery with Londonderry Port & Harbour Comissioners No.1 and Great Southern Railway 4-6-0 No.800 Maeve - the largest Irish steam loco ever built.

The famous Fintona Tram.

Found out that there is a 600mm gauge steam loco preserved in Reykjavik Harbour dating from around 1914 - the only survivor of a short-lived railway in Iceland. I could not get to see it as cruise ships now dock at a brand new terminal 3 miles from the city.

Nice pics Dave,
the Funicular looks great, and very modern looking too.

Nice pictures, thanks for showing them, always meant to go to Bergen. Still plenty of time in the future though.

Nice photos Dave,

I don't think I've ever seen any from Ireland before.

By the way that horse must be patient

No John, It's not very patient, nor is it dead, nor has it been stuffed and mounted. It is a 1:1 plastic kit!!! Honestly!!!!!

Dave.

In which case it must come in a very large box!

As a newbie here, I've noticed that there are just as many comedians on this forum as on RMWeb and in the case of MRE mag, where no humour is displayed - who's died?

I now await a bollocking from a Moderator!

Dave.
Consider yourself bollocked! How dare you imply that contributors to this staid and sensible forum might have a sense of humour! This forum is for earnest debate about serious topics....

Humour indeed, hurumph!
