One little railway operation I have a high interest in was the use of jeep trains by Aussie troops in Bouganville during WW2. So I made a start on one today by changing the wheels of one of my wargaming jeeps to rail wheels. Now just need some crew, rollingstock and a section of track through the jungle for it.

And here it is sitting on my diorama of Autieul station on the Aramac line. Yes that makes it the wrong gauge, but it is all I have at the moment.

I suspect you could motorise that. I think its probably possible to fit a small motor and drive in the bonnet - it might not have the most impresive pulling power but it would be kewl it would move on its own.........

can I recommend a crew of Games Workshop's [white] metal Uruk-Hai warriors?

or one of the same company's metal trolls for a driver?

either would be most helpful with traction

Motorising it would be cool, though I had no plans to do so. Suprisingly for a $3 diecast 1/76 scale jeep there is a lot of under body detail. Might be hard to fit a GW troll in, though it would look different, rolling down the track the troll balancing on one foot.
