Jouef - a history

The history of French model railway company Jouef makes very interesting reading. French railway modellers rioted when they were informed that the Jouef model moulds would be leaving France! They raised money from their own pockets in an attempt to prevent this. Clearly the politics of French railway modelling is somewhat different to those of the British!

And Jouef at one time produced their own slot car system and subsequently became French distributers of the British Scalextric car racing system and developed a relationship with Hornby permitting Hornby to offer the Eurostar train set in the UK.
