I think its to give you the option of using slaters or the new markits wheels.

Maybe they could do a similar thing to Marklin (they supply non-insulated wheels & will exchange them for insulated FOC).

The JLTRT stuff looks brilliant. And, unlike the Bachmann OO offering, doesn't appear to have a bowed roof!!! (see MRE Mag).

John, this is held together with Blue tack as a dry run, their diesel kits are very very good, after this is done I'm hoping to play with one of the new panniers.
