Anyone know if Keen Systems is still trading?

I have sent two e-mails about purchasing some of his floating end plates, but, I have not received any answers.

I bought some stuff from him back in February at the Harrogate show. I don't know what's happened since then.

By the way, are you looking for his close coupling system? This is what I bought and I'm not totally happy with it. I have airfix coaches and to use the Keen close couplers you have to cut away part of each bogie which weakens them. Also I don't know whether I needed them anyway. They are designed to help with small radius curves and I don't have anything below 3ft.

They have quite a large "footprint" - the Roco ones are smaller & much easier to fit because of it - give you a NEN pocket to fit the couplings of your choice.

Fleischmann also make a conversion that has an even smaller "footprint" but you can only fit the Profi Coupling to it.

Have Roco stopped making the coupler head to fit the Fleischmann unit? I also use the Gutzold unit, but it seems to be as rare as Hens teeth! both have the advantage of being able to slide the coupler head up and down to the height you require.

Hi David,

I'd forgotten about that one - it's still available ;
40281 - with the FLM pin mounting
40286 - with the Ade "short NEM"
40287 - with the std NEM

also the coupling conversions are ;
40343 - for two axel vehicles
40344 - for bogie vehicles

all on page 257 in the 2007/8 catalogue.

They had a stand at the Alexandra Palace show just after Easter.

Given the amount of spam that my ISP filters from my incoming mail, it could be that they are so swamped that they don't see any "real" stuff anymore. You may have to phone or write by snail mail

Thank you for your replies.

I will try phoning later this weekend.

I am after his floating end plates for my Bachmann Mk.1 & Hornby Gresley stock, that already have the close-coupling installed.

Too bad "Mainly Trains", dropped Keen from their product lines.

Hi David,
Looks like they are, as they are in the current catalogue & listed on their website. Probably around £2.50 a pair though !

If you would like us to get some on the next Roco order please send me a PM.

Hope this helps.
