My apologies in that I have only just noticed your reply on here - thanks for your comments and I'm glad you like the layout.
It is not too difficult to take out and about, with the exception of the larger scenic section which needs its own travel case. As for remaining jobs, well - I have enhanced the detailing on the station building, I have a signal-box and the quarry main loader to build and I have made a start on the road bridge.
My scenic guru, Doug, wants to redo all the plaster castings as due to me(!), he had to paint them with paint rather than dye as he would have preferred - this would have shown greater detail in the castings and would look another step above what it is now, so Doug tells me! I don't really look forward to such a task though.
I shall not be expanding it however, I may change the station end board, where the loco shed and the turntable is. IF I build a new baseboard, I could replace the TT with a three-way point and effectively modernise the layout so I can run some of my diesels on it.
We shall see how my enthusiasm pans out though and I may just get through this year before making any real changes.
