Just to put some kind of positive spin on your stressful countdown to deadline, it at least meant that things got done. Reading posts on this forum and with my limited involvement with a new club layout, procrastination displacement activities often delay things for far longer than they should. Fine work and congratulations.

Not a lot else to report really, just busy selling off a load of UK 4mm items in order to be able to settle my forthcoming bill from Lippe!

Looks good John, as Mark implies, you now have something to run locos on. This has given me a bit or renewed inspiration to try and get my FL Profi Track hooked up and wired - too many locos sitting around idle. Cheers

Good to hear from you, how have you been? I do know what you mean about locos sitting idle.
I've been a bit slow with Leberecht lately - still a bit burnt out I guess. I've just started cleaning up and detailing the station building though and now have a small signal box kit to build.
Thinking on, yes - very burnt out, so much so that I'm now operating the layout with diesels!
A change is as good as a rest so they say.

Good evening, Babs!
My apologies in that I have only just noticed your reply on here - thanks for your comments and I'm glad you like the layout.

It is not too difficult to take out and about, with the exception of the larger scenic section which needs its own travel case. As for remaining jobs, well - I have enhanced the detailing on the station building, I have a signal-box and the quarry main loader to build and I have made a start on the road bridge.
My scenic guru, Doug, wants to redo all the plaster castings as due to me(!), he had to paint them with paint rather than dye as he would have preferred - this would have shown greater detail in the castings and would look another step above what it is now, so Doug tells me! I don't really look forward to such a task though.
I shall not be expanding it however, I may change the station end board, where the loco shed and the turntable is. IF I build a new baseboard, I could replace the TT with a three-way point and effectively modernise the layout so I can run some of my diesels on it.
We shall see how my enthusiasm pans out though and I may just get through this year before making any real changes.

Hi everyone,
Just a very quick update as what I had just written on my iPad, has been lost, Grrr.
What is shown above is the main scenic boards of Leberecht, packed up ready for shipping to Greece!
The layout is in transit but my wife and I have been here since last year.
We are brexit refugees!
The move was on the cards for several years to be honest but the impending loss of the right to travel and live in the rest of Europe, forced us to act decisively and quickly.
Most of last year was taken up with making our house look it’s best so that it sold in October and we were busy packing when news of the second lockdown broke so we really got our skates on.
Long story, full of woe but we’ve made it here and whatever happens, Leberecht will stay here but still in Prussian form.
Unfortunately, it looks like I can only post one picture as I switch between apps on the iPad.

Yes, everything took a lot of planning but when the notice of the second lockdown came, we went into panic mode! Looking back, I don’t know how we did it but thankfully, we did.
I got the layout packed up and most of my stock, my amazing wife, Bev got our clothes packed and organised the transport as we needed a one way car hire down to Heathrow and a pet cat ticket! Poor Peanut our Greek rescue cat was quite traumatised to return to his country of birth but he and us, have settled in nicely now.
Eventually, we were able to arrange some storage here, very near to our apartment so we could commission our shippers to collect everything that was in storage in the UK and get it all delivered to us here.
That was yet another hectic day but well worth it to have our stuff here. As far as I can see, everything is as it should be, yippee.
Since delivery day, not much has happened as our typical daytime temperatures have gone from a comfortable 30C to around 40C, can’t do that much in this sort of heat except enjoy cool drinks in the shade!

Hi John Glad you and your wife are well. Nice to see you back on the Forum.I am sure you are still trying to find your feet. I used to Fly to Greece quite a lot in my professional career many moons ago. Never night stopped there. Santorini was my most Challenging place Happy Days. B
