Lenz Decoders

I emailed the American Lenz importer about stocks, and she said that she had a very large order in December, but she did not know why they could not be obtained in the U.K.
The American market ones are packaged differently, because the labelling has to include warnings not applicable to the U.K.
She emailed me again the next day to say that she had been on to Headquarters in Germany, and they stated that they were expanding the dealer network in the U.K.

I then emailed direct to Lenz in Germany, and they replied the next day giving me the name of the new dealer.

They are A and H Models of Brackley Northants. Website: aandhmodels.co.uk. Telephone 01280 701410.

I telephoned them and they confirmed that they now deal direct with Lenz. She confirmed that they have stocks of most Lenz decoders.

Hope this helps,

AlanB.

I wonder what Mackays did wrong? Have they been replaced or will there now be two lenz dealers in the UK now?

Alan said they were expanding their dealer network. Maybe this is the first step?
On the list I got via America, Lenz also had the following dealers on their list:

DCC Supplies Ltd - Have checked, no stocks.

Marno Ltd - London - 020 8884 2305. no website - Has stocks of most decoders, and his prices are mid range. Takes orders over the phone - leave message if out, will call.

Howes Model Shop ltd - Oxford - 01865 848000. no reply on phone to-day.

MacKay models - no stock.

and A & H models mentioned previously.

It appears that there is not a shortage, just problems with whoever was supplying direct to the big boys in the U.K. is no longer able to.

The man at Marno did say that there has been an increase in prices announced at the Nurenburg fair. (Apologies if I spelt it wrong)

Sadly, Mckays according to reports posted recently are no longer trading.
I see that other forums are poncing around a bit, worried about the delicate state of balance of Mckays ability or inability to stay upright.

If anyone wants a hotline number or email for Lenz, please give me a call or send me a PM.

I honestly think that if Lenz has a new distributor in the UK then it could only be good for them as they are struggling enough as it is.

Thats a real shame. I can see why that came about though. Very sad.
