Hi Tim. Welcome to the forum

If it is supposed to be DCC ready I suspect it might have a blanking plug where the decoder is supposed to go, that you will need to remove before fitting the decoder.
However if you post a Picture With the body off, then someone that have this particular model or can see what ve are talking about would be better off helping you find the problem.

Best Regards
JC
Ps : Sorry didn`t reead the description, just try to find the blanking plug:)

If you have a Picture With the body off ve can maby identefy it for you, but take a look on this page first: http://www.modelrailforum.com/forums/index...mp;page=H-R2420
Picure number nine from the top show one type of plug to the upper right from the decoder. Imagine that plug upside Down mounted where you see the decoder plug is Attached on the Picture below.
Now a blanking plug can be five times the size of the one in the Picture but it is a Board Connected to the main circuitboard through the decodercontact no matter what size it is.

But I read that you have an MTS Interface and this mean you need a Decoder With MTS Interface or you must rip out everything and hardwire yourself. This is what the MTS setup looks like: Link
If you have a decoder that don`t fit and you want "plug and play", then Google MTS DCC Interface and click Pictures. There are more manufacturers than LGB making theese decoders.
Best Regards
