QUOTE (Richard Johnson @ 30 Jan 2009, 22:44) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>***Its an interesting load but it looks a little precious sitting there on those two wee stands.

I wonder how it would actually have been supported / secured if they went by rail - I'm betting some big baulks of timber and lots more props/supports + chains etc to secure the mini-sub at least... I wonder too about the torpedoes - something that long, full of amatol and fitted with gyros and other sensitive stuff would surely need more support and protection....
Yes, that is correct. It would only be seen like this when partially prepared for transit. Or when being unloaded.

I do wonder about the DR logo, that would make it East Germany Epoch III or IV wouldn't it. Where's John Woodall when you need him?

Nice pictures Doug.

QUOTE (Richard Johnson @ 3 Feb 2009, 01:39) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>*** HI Neil

Its ages since I looked at a catalog, but aren't tigers/panthers/Mk4's part of the Roco Minitanks range... along with many other WW2 German guns, tank killers & other stuff etc...?

Richard
Hi Richard, they may well be. It's a long time since I looked at the Minitanks range too. I'll have a look and see what's available.

Hi John, I will probably try and source some photos first to get something to work from.
I just bought the World at War boxed set so I'm sure I can get some film clips of military trains. I spotted a streamlined BR05 in one yesterday when Hitler made his return from Paris.

Eisenbahn Journal may have a series on this which would help.

cheers

Neil

QUOTE (pedromorgan @ 20 Feb 2009, 00:17) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>yep thats the one.

oah i do hope they have dropped it!!

I was wondering what paint to use. the models i have seen are red (including the micrometakit) but the only contempory description i have seen has it as brown.

now is that carmine or LMS maroon?
Peter
The authentic paint colour is still available to view on the BR05 001 in the Nurnberg museum. The same paint colour was applied to all three in the class.

QUOTE (Anthony James @ 20 Feb 2009, 17:15) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Hi Guys,

The last two day I have put up five new pics of the Roco Minitanks and both times hothing has appeared, they were posted properly and I used the attachment INSERT IMAGE and nothing has been posted, so it seems that the moderators don't like it or there is something I am doing wrong, so I think that I just won't bother anymore.

regards

Anthony james
Where did you post them? I wouldn't mind a look at those.
