I've been testing and tweaking a wonderful model over the last few days.

A model of a classic British made loco that still runs today on a historic railway.

QUOTE (Doug @ 11 Oct 2008, 09:10) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>DailyMotion limits uploads to 20 minutes or 150MB whatever comes first. Size depends on the quality that you render the video. I render at high-resolution DVD quality so one day I may just stick it on a DVD. This clip comes out at about 67MB at 1280x720 25fps resolution. Of course the hosting service compresses it further to put it into Flash.
Maybe I should look at dailymotion as their allowance is greater.
Doug & Richard !

I want that whistle. Stunning. Just like the old TCDD steamers.
Is it in the library of ESU ?

*** No, they have many but none quite like that unfortunately... Its my own work on the sound file I created especially for Doug.

However I really enjoy your enthusiasm for getting things right and the excellent detail in your posts about TCDD conversions etc so... if you want to send me a decoder or even several of them, I can so some special sound work and load them for you for only the cost of return postage. Just give me the loco types so I can research the steam sounds properly for you....

Thanks Richard,

I am on it now. See if I can supply you with a film of any TCDD steamer blowing its whistle.
They were all very special, very high pitch and all the drivers had a way of blowing them. i.e, blowing their own tunes, playing with it, like a symphony. Everyone new it was that driver pulling in the station just by hearing the sound of his whistle.
This liliput has that pitch.
The whistle types in loksound are all Germanic in nature. The closest is the sound of the Br78 and Br55.

Interesting review, I found it via google as there is one on ebay. I did not know about this model at all. I note that your review is dated 2008, and I am wondering if Liliput have re-issued the model since then? Liliput also issued it in unlined black as 140-C-6 for SNCF Region 1 with a different smokebox door (Liliput 101461). Star Boutique describe that as LILIPUT 101461 HO - Locomotive type 140 C 6 SNCF. Tender 18 B 629; 1ère sortie en novembre 2007; "Dépôt de Lumes (région Est); ép III de la SNCF" "DCC sound". 2007 is also a long time ago, so I am wondering if there have been more recent releases. It seems strange if not as Liliput / Bachmann have the moulds. The tender to loco electrical plug system in your review looks very Bachmann USA, so I am guessing that both models were developed after Bachmann took Liliput over.

I would be grateful to know any other issue #s beyond Liliput 101433 and 101461 so I can search the web for them.

Best Regards,
Bill.
