I really like the pic on page 100 of hornby mag #15 it's a cement lorry unloading from a wagon and I wanted to know if this would have been done in the eighties and does anyone know of any pics of other traffic that would have been unloaded using a single siding and hard standing, looks like a great idea for a small space layout!

Not seen the picture your question refers too, but my Dad had a stint of unloading ballast trains by jcb type crane/bucket back in the 80's. Id visit him at work just so I could play in the yard (what would the H+S police have to say about that these days?)
The train would be shunted along to the correct road from the sidings at Blue Bridge and then Dad would go about transfering the ballast from the open wagons to the waiting truck, moving the jcb along to each wagon as needed. Id usually be found playing in the semi derilict paint shop of the wolverton carriage works!
