What about some weathered and some unweathered locos? I prefer and buy most of my locos in weathered condition. But I will buy some in pristine,too to have some ex work locos on the layout. The weathering brings out the detail I think. Of course there are trains where a weathered loco will not be the right one, for example The Golden Arrow as Stewards Lane depot usually provided a very clean loco.
