But is it still live? There don't seem to have been any updates since May 2005. Although the shed names/numbers appear, selecting a year and number produces no information about locos. Does it work for you. Maybe it is something to do with my browser or security settings?

I found that by trying different dates some of the years worked, that raises a secondary problem though, now that I have loco numbers (and the odd Dxxx diesel number) if there an internet database than can tell me what type of loco they are?

ps Great find of a website!

Well I haven't got my trusty ABCs with me so can not give an exhaustive list of which locos are what but I think I'm right with the following:

44954, 45164, 45384, and 45486 are all Stanier Black 5
46463 and 46464 are Ivatt 2MT 2-6-0
60528 A2 (like Blue Peter)
60804, 60822, 60834, 60838, and 60844 all V2 class 2-6-2 (Green Arrow)
80090, 80123, and 80124 BR standard class 4 2-6-4T
90444 and 90515 both Riddles austerity 2-8-0
The D numbers relate to what later became classes 26 and 27 but I can't remember which way round the numbers go.

Hope that helps

Wow, a quick reply, Thanks for that! I'm quite suprised by the diversity of the engines, must have been quite a sight to see them all there

For everybodies future reference I find this site very useful http://www.railuk.co.uk/ It has info on the loco classes and differences that made up sub-classes to help fine tune your loco. On the down side it only has 1948 (or first shed depending on when the loco was built) and last shed allocations for any given loco. There's also a multi map link to show you where the shed is or was.

However This site does seem to contradict some of the info on the site at the top of this thread.
