The Macclesfield Model Railway Group's annual exhibition at Tytherington High School staged a fine collection of layouts. Some pictures can be found on this link.
This was my second visit to the Macc show and I enjoyed it just as much as the first. Good varied selection of layouts all to a really good standard, pleasant venue which does not get overcrowded, good food and plenty of parking. Oh yes and an opportunity for a bit of retail therapy!
Got to say I think I enjoy the smaller shows more than the "supersize exihibitions". Wigan for me was awful, and Harrogate was tolerable. Whereas this show, and the New Mills one a few weeks ago were far more relaxed, cheaper and had a much better balance of layouts. There's obviously a place for the big shows, but long may the smaller ones prosper!
Having exhibited at two shows and a toyfair then visited the Macc show too I have overspent my pass-outs during March and the Mrs has grounded me now until May (when I'm exhibiting on two weekends).
I suppose I'll just have to get on with building the new layout instead.
