I wonder if someone could give me the internal measurements of the sponge material on a loco cradle, just the face to face measurements in the width and the the bottom face to top measurement, all of unpressed sponge material. I was also wondering if one size fits all.

Thanks
Albert

Albert,

If you want to make one, the width of UK prototype is 9 feet, so something in soft foam with a 37mm gap should support without gripping. Personally, with the latest generation of RTR I keep the packaging halves handy for servicing (one per class where I have multiples of the same loco class) as these preformed parts are perfect for inverted support. Write the class description on the packaging piece(s) BIG in felt pen so they are easily found in the storage drawer.
