Just watched the programme, very entertaining. Especially when he fell off the (5" gauge?) model Crampton! Seriously I thought that another reason that Cramptons never caught on in the UK was that the position of the single driving wheel meant they had a tendancy to lift at the front and de-rail, especially when accellerating.
I remember reading a humerous quip many years ago "Voici le Crampton, il est dans le jardin de ma tante" and a cartoon picture.
