The new owners of the Thomas franchise, Mattel Fisher Price intends to promote Thomas

Thomas has been around so long that he is recognised by a wide group I think although Mattel consider him as suitable for the 1 to 3yo market his attraction is much wider with nostalgic memories by us oldies ... not that he was around in my childhood ... my loss.

I am now 21 and I grew up watching the Ringo Starr seasons, where those seasons were enjoyable to watch even by adults, and they contained real railway references unlike the new childish CGI episodes.

Although a 5th engine was announced in the N Gauge range about 7 years ago and was never released, I am hoping this new promotion may bring more characters out in N Gauge *fingers crossed*

I have seen the latest Large Scale model, Emily, and she looks great, although I am not a fan of the character myself. But I think that these LS models are fantastic

My grandson who is two already loves Thomas mainly due to my bad influence and a couple of local steam line.I doubt he will care about CGI or models and nor will the millions of new fans in the far east .It will probably come round full circle ,become a manga and get adapted by Quentin Tarentino as a 'Kill Percy' movie

Seeing as Thomas is worth $660 million, it seriously would not suprise me if a manga was made!

Has anyone owned one of these LS engines? Even though I dislike the CGI faces I am extremely tempted to buy the Thomas + Annie and Clarabel oval set! It would look great going around our christmas tree when the season arrives
I currently own some of the HO scale Thomas locos by Bachmann and they are splended. Rossi if you managed to get a hold of some of these HO Scale Bachmann Thomas locos your Grandson will be amazed to see this little blue tank engine come alive before his very eyes

I have a Bachmann Thomas, with Annie and Clarabel, which I have converted to battery powered radio control with MyLocoSound chuff and whistle. The grandkids and their friends love it. They spend hours playing with them and, at the end of the day, I find Annie and Clarabel full of snails, geckos, toy cows and assorted other "passengers".

To reduce arguments about whose turn it is to drive Thomas, today's job is to use my 3D printer to make name plates and faces so that I can temporarily modify some of my other locos into Thomas characters. First one in the queue is to convert an Accucraft Baguley Drewery to "Rusty".

Awhile back when I organised a Santa layout for the local businessmens association I had my train hauled by this loco ... a Playmobil tender drive

Earlier I had Big Bird which was a battery driven loco running on G Track She had two fourwheel truck which I still have but cannot find the photo becuase it was quite a time ago and film not digital.
EDIT Found her

This was during the building of the first GNWR railway with 10x3mm steel and she was bringing a fresh supply of sleepers ... well that is my story anyway
