NOTE: Due to recent spam problems, there is also a manual administrator validation in place as well as the user email validation. This means a forum administrator does a manual check before you are validated and can post on the forum. If your email address, user name or IP address is suspect and is listed on a public spammer database, you will not be validated. We suggest that you use your ISPs email address not a Gmail or Hotmail account. If you are not getting in, please drop us a line, explain who you are and what your favourite hobby is and we'll validate your account.
We recommend that you use your real name as your display name, in the format "Firstname Lastname" e.g. "John Smith". Please ensure correct use of uppercase/lowercase convention, i.e. John Smith. Many spammers or automated spam bots use random display names or names including the products they are trying to sell so using your real name will help us identify you as a real person. Also, using your real name reduced anonymous personal attacks on the forum and overall raises the quality of the posts. Everyone benefits from this.
