Hi Peter,

Your friends layout is certainly a great one, if mine turns out that good then both Arthesusa and me will be happy!

What loco was you running one the front of your friends Corrie? Hope your not planning on running it on the front of yours, its in the wrong livery, thats the budget livery rather than the executive crome & steel that should be on the Common Wealth Loco's that puled the corrie train.

Also, is that a Silver Jubilie set in the back ground of the first pic? If so, can you post some more of them in close up, I need all the help I can get or mine

Thats an awesome layout i wish i had the space for something like that.
Bro, its the bachmann mallard. yes i am planning to run it with mine. i know its not strictly correct but i do have pictures of loco's in this livery pulling the train. also its the loco my father bought be at the railfest. it was a wonderfull present and for that reason alone it deserves a nice express to pull.

I'm afraid not no. what you are looking at are the white roofs of a set of hornby pullmans.
A silver jubilee is on my to-do list but i know there is a new kit in the pipeline that i am waiting for. (very eagerly!!)

I like operating the layout. there are moments where you dont know which one of the 5 controllers to grab to stop an accident from happenning but its all good fun. it takes about 4 minutes to run a circuit (at express speeds) without ever going over the same piece of track twice.

Regards

Peter

just a quick correction.

That is not the rake of pullmans but the roofs of the west riding set in a siding.

Peter

P.S. i showed this thread to the layouts owner and he is very apreciative of your comments.
Those are very good photos of the layout under construction, I take it the layout is a permanent home based affair rather than portable for exhibitions? It often strikes me as a pity that such creations don't get a wider airing.

I am new to the forum and still finding my way around so this may have been suggested before, and there may actually be one already but I can't find it
... How about a gallery of forum members' layout photos? The gallery could include portable layouts but would mainly be for showing the wonderful home layouts that otherwise hide their lights under a bushel.

Collecters corner has a bit for showing your collection but I guess there would not be an issue with showing your layout too. Some people use their blog to show their layout or other modelling projects.
