Recent I've head a lot said about Vista - none of it good either !

As someone who is contemplating buying a new laptop I'm concerned & would prefer to get one with XP Professional instead (I understand that Dell now give you that option), especially as my own small nextwork of three PC's & one laptop (admittedly running win Win98) runs fine with all the PC's on XP.

Also, some of our programme apparently will not run unless we update those too - these are programmes that we are more than happy with as they are.

Anybody have any experience with Vista that would care to comment please ?

There lies the problem - we run some specialised electrical testing software which is just not available to run on Linux.

It looks like we will have to stay with XP as one of the PC's is too old & only just copes with XP.
