QUOTE (dbclass50 @ 6 Feb 2008, 07:27) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Thanks for the info' Neil - I've heard about this one from a few people that have seen it.
There is also a large DCC model in a museum somewhere in the Berlin area as well.
I was in Berlin last summer and the Loxx was closed as it was moving. The info in the article in CM is based on its old location close to the Ku'damm. The new location is close to the Fernsehturm (the big TV tower) in what was East Berlin and is a short walk from Alexanderplatz station. I think that all the pictures on the website are from the old location and they moved so that they could expand. They have moved the whole thing which must have been a challenge in itself!
The other DCC model might be one that I saw under construction at the Deutsches Technikmuseum. This is also a great day out (trains, planes, automobiles and a whole lot more) and the railway element is based in what were the Anhalter loco sheds (2 adjacent semicircular buildings). The model was replicating (exactly as far as I could tell) the area around the sheds and the approach to what was the old Hauptbahnhof up to 1945. There was still a lot to do but the team working on it looked happy enough! If that isn't enough the museum even has its own brewery - can't get much better than that...
