QUOTE (bangerblueed @ 9 Nov 2007, 23:22) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>My subscription copy arrived on tuesday !

Is this as far as this thread goes?

I like this mag a lot, genuinely, so come on, what do you think of it?

Personally, I think it is the best mag for modern image modellers, but Rail Express is good too.

Our mag is steam/diesel changeover, so we can't go 'to town' like these mags do on modern image.

is this the copy with the ViTrains interview in?

if so, the subject has already be done.....

yes,,,,I, too, prefer Model Rail.......I find RM editorial style not to my liking, same with BRM.....

I like the 'usefulness' of Model Rail's reader offers.....all those useful glue packs, etc.

Browsed as Hornby mag, Model Rail and Railway Modeller all arrived Smiths at same time. Came away with Hornby Mag and Railway Modeller. Why? Both have several layouts in them. Model Rail has 1 (and while looking nice and my period, seemed a bit small to me- shunting plankish. Seems to be lots of articles on peripheral items like catenary and platforms and frankly fed up with class 37s- so while the reviews had me tempted , decided 2 model railway mags was enough, and I bought the best two.
