Hello Folks I'm new to this model railway malarky but would be interested in joining a model railway club. I live an work in Surrey and wondered if anyone would be so kind to recommend any good local clubs that maybe interested in new members, cheers.

That depends where you are in Surrey...Epsom and Ewell have good one...a couple in Redhill /Reigate area...Dorking...as I say depends where you based..
Phil :)
Well funny you should say that Phil I am in Leatherhead, so Epsom and Ewell or Dorking both really convenient for me, Even Reigate and Redhill isn't a problem. Don't suppose you know if they have websites or anything? I have had a look for Epsom but nothing really comes up. I would Ideally like to get involved in a big old 00 project if possible.
Cheers Chris thats blinding thanks I'm having a swift butchers at them now thanks
They're all good clubs and nice people having met several of them through layout shoots. I think you'll find all of them keen to take on new blood too. I guess location will be the decider.

Not all have permanent clubrooms, so some of the time may be spent setting up and breaking down on club nights.

Here's another one I forgot to mention - location wise great for you too (3 mins off the M23)! They have a proper clubroom with lots of layouts (real inspirational stuff) set up all the time including the excellent Wellbridge (below) that was featured in the mag a few months back....

http://www.crawleymrs.org.uk/ - if I had the time for club nights - this one would be my choice!

Thanks Chris, that truly does look pretty damn marvellous, I'm remember reading the article in Hornby mag now you come to mention it. And personally I'd love to get involved in the building side of things with the scratch building of architecture and scenery especially. Many thanks your help

We're in Lyne, near Chertsey - just along the M25 from Leatherhead. We have a large 00 Gauge and a large N gauge layout in our permanent Clubhouse where visitors and new members are always welcome!

Cheers,
Paul Francis.
