If you can't find any Modelstrip you can use Mr Muscle foaming oven cleaner. I used it recently, sprayed onto a wagon body in a sealed plastic box and left overnight. It took off 30year old factory paint and never touched the plastic. I used to make my own paste from powdered Ronstrip but I think it's been withdrawn due to health issues.

From one Steve to another I totally agree with the Mr Mustle approach. I've used it loads of times to strip paint from the rails on Peco points. Brings 'em up like new and doesn't effect the plastic one iota.
