interesting pics thanks for the link (it was a pity about the rather annoying sound effect though, it was nearly as bad as the choo choo on hornby's site!)

i am not sure what you call them down there but the chinese call them NJ2's. i knew there were some in australia but i had never seen any decent pictures untill now. the chinese had some specially built (or were they just modified on the cheap?? i have evidence for both) to cope with the high altitude on the new tibet line.

actually now i look at it again i think i was mistaken. the chinese loco's were not built in china they were american loco's that were imported.

ok now i'm really confused. i think mabye there is an australian loco called an NJ or an NJ2 that looks a bit similar but nothing to do with it.
