Watching the June/July Video Track DVD it wa suprising how many modern outline locos ranging from class 37's, class 56's, class 47's, etc haul old Mk1 and Gresley coaches, etc on the main line and in all of the old BR colour schemes.

How do you think the coaches are delivered from their base to the steam loco for steam train excursions?

Also of course there are numerous excursions pulled by modern outline with old vintage BR coaches including Pullmans.

A pair of Class 73's were filmed hauling teak Gresley and former GWR clerestory coaches as well as some of the the old Brighton Belle coaches.

Even Virgin Mk3 coaches are now classified as vintage being hauled by BR blue Class 56's.

Really every modeller of modern outline has an excuse to haul any mix of old BR coach in any mix of BR liveries that they can get their hands on!

Also spotted was a rake of Blue Pullman coaches being powered by a pair of Class 47's with one at each end. Ideal DCC fodder.

Would it not make sense for Hornby to release their ex Lima Mk2 Pullman livery coaches as seperate items?

Happy modelling

Well I do remember the Peaks going through Gloucester with blue/grey painted Gresley buffet cars in the train, I even managed to travel on one back in the 70's.
