I have to get Hornby NRM Schools Cheltenham, Bachmann NRM 04 and if the rumers are true then NRM/Bachmann City of Truro to the NRM collection. as well as I would like to aquire Blue Peter and Tornado to the collection of preserved models. How can I do this, and when do all the locos come out if anybody knows? Hopefully I can find out a way, if they are coming 3rd and 4th quater.

Hi!
I really wish I had a good solution to your problem - believe me, you are not the only one with that problem!
Blimey ! When I was your age that lot would have accounted for several birthdays and Christmasses as well as the proceeds from my Saturday job ! Admittedly stuff stayed available for longer than five minutes in those days.
More helpfully, Bachmann's delivery schedules have always been something of a moving feast and are likely to slip further as manufacturers take a more cautious approach. You might see a couple of those this year but my understanding from the MR interview was that 'Truro' was only at the 'maybe possibly thinking about' stage, I doubt very much whether you'll see it before 2011 if at all.
You should have time to budget anyway, I doubt very much whether they'll all turn up at once.
Don't recall any mention of Truro in the September 2007 interview in MR. Has there been anything similar published since? (I only buy MR occasionally and bought that copy specifically for that most informative article.) The T9 was mentioned as abandoned because they had caught wind of another manufacturer doing it, and the possibility of other perennial wishes in the form of either of a Beyer-Garratt or Blue Pullman was firmly placed in the 'too expensive to contemplate' bracket with estimated prices (then) of £500 and £400 respectively. Their requirements for a model were longevity and widespread service: but they were quite prepared to undertake the work for any customer willing to front up the money for a production run of circa 5,000 units. That's presumably what the NRM and Paddy Murphy did to get the Deltic Prototype and 141/181 models respectively produced.
There's the best chance of a Truro IMO, that the NRM or another interested body commission it...
City of Truro is mentioned as a possible model in this months Model Rail No.128, along with a Midland Spinner, Doncaster Class 71, GCR 8K, and a Gorton built 'EM1' (later Class 76).
Hmm I'm only buying Cheltenham and O4 to add to the NRM Collection. This is because I have recently purchased the Ducess of sutherland which has costed a BOMB. I may still try to SAVE UP for blue peter which I have always done by selling old stock or just pennies in a tin.
I have plans to sell the King Henry II to put towards the engines. Or the West Shed
I believe that the looming recession, many of the model rail manufacturers will certainly curtail the number of new models offered, as always demand is the main factor and no manufacturer will produce if the demands are not there.
Model rail is a luxury and not a necessity.
