QUOTE (Al @ 23 Dec 2007, 20:08) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>How about a few pics...?

http://bitsandbobs.fotopic.net/c1428703.html

Sorry about that.

I have taken pictures of the locos I have in the house I have left the 2 dummy locos on my layout and obviously there is no picture of eddie the engine as yet as my wife has decided not to give me my xmas present early but has wrapped it up until the big day. boo hoo.

Sorry about the quality of the pics as they were taken with my camcorders camera function.

I've managed to sneak into my shed today and managed to get some pictures of the locos I didn't get last night and have entered them onto my fotopic link as seen on my previous post.

Enjoy and Merry Christmas to all.

Well Eddie has had to go back to Bachmann due to a problem with screaching coming from the loco whilst bedding in possibly something to do with the gears and also the clips that connect to the motor have become loose after taking the board off to chip the loco following the instructions. I must admit I have never had a problem with them before after chipping other locos in my collection.

So not really a good couple of days for me.

Well I have just purchased another class 60 for my collection. It is another 60078 in mainline blue but I have also ordered a fox transfers set for the loco and I am going to renumber the loco when I arrives from Rails of Sheffield.

I will keep you updated when I get it and start to convert it to possibly 60011 or even 60044.

Well I have managed to get a chassis for my class 37 body in DRS so all I need to do now is to chip my non dcc locos which includes the 37,47,20,08 and class 73.

Well I have had a bit of a change around of my locos and I have added new pics of them on my fotopic site.

http://bitsandbobs.fotopic.net/c1428703.html

As you can see there has been a few locos gone due to them not being dcc'd and so all the locos I have apart from the non working ones of course.

The collection now contains

4 class 60's various liveries

8 class 66's various liveries

1 class 57 in virgin livery

1 class 86 stored loco.

1 dutch liverid class 31 scrap line

5 hst's various liveries ( 3 dummy power cars and 2 powered ones).

And obviously few bits of rolling stock.

Any comments would be welcome.

Well I have decided to trim my collection down a little and have started by listing my 2 hst rakes on ebay.

They are the new farish releases.

GNER set + extra coaches

and

Midland Mainline set + extra coaches.

Both of the powered hst power cars have been dcc'd by Chuffers of Guisborough.

If anyone is interested in placing a bid or just watching the sales. Please pm me and I will be happy to provide the links as I am not sure if I can do that on here.

Well I've now updated the collection to include a personally renumbered EWS 60 that I converted from the standard 60052 to 60096 using fox transfers and enamel thinners and cocktail sticks...lol.

Let me know what you think of it as I have also added the griffin to the side of the loco which wasn't added to the origional model.

Let me know what you think. And yes I know the yellow stripe doesn't match the origional stripe parts but that is going to be dulled down using weathering powders once the numbers have settles correctly.

I purchased a new loco today from sale on ebay and it is that nice that i have taken the numbers off the one I already had and have decided to keep the one I got today as it is and not renumber it as it looks good.

Judge for yourself.

After the last loco was purchased I decided to change the loco in my collection that was origionally numbered 60052 seeing as the newer one had a better weathering effect on it.

I decided on 2 numbers either 60500 or 60100. I contacted shawplan to see if they did the nameplate for 60500 which they didn't at the time but they did say they would look into it for me and get back to me with a price. So I plumped for 60100 the last in the class 60 numbers.

I've placed an order for the "Pride of Acton" nameplate but I thought I would share a pic of the renumbering of it.

The decals are from fox transfers.

It is a bit of a challenge especially the end numbers with them being very very tiny.

I got another delivery this morning for my collection as well today in the way of a bachrus rolling road set so I can run in my locos without them moving an inch. I'm planning on placing a small length of track on a plinth of wood so I can take it into the shed and also use it in the house if I'm just wanting to run in my dc locos.

In the picture below you will see I have one of my other purchases this week the weathered 60096 I bought off ebay being broken in.

They are very reasonable the rolling road bits from Bachrus and a better alternative if you are short of cash and can't afford the gaugemaster version and also good if you are limited for space as well.

Thanks for the comments guys it is very much appreciated.

I got home from work today and to my surprise I had some post that wasn't just bills. I went through the routine of opening the envelopes and noticed that one of them was from Shawplan. Now I only placed the order for the items at 16:30hrs on Thursday and here I am Saturday and the plates for 60100 have arrived. I can't wait to get them onto the loco and get it finished.

I then pulled out the reciept from the envelope and also noticed that there was another set of nameplates in there as well. I made an enquiry to shawplan when I ordered the plates for 60100 for plates for another project which was going to be my next ews class 60 project which was to renumber one from 60052 to 60500 but when I looked on their site they didn't advertise the plates I needed to complete it. But the helpfull Brian Hanson said he would ask to see if it could be done.

To my surprise also in the pack was the plates for 60500 as well. Ok I made an enquiry about them and I'm chuffed to bits that I managed to get them. Especially as he said they were only doing them in OO gauge.

And here they are in all their glory as well as the plaque that adorns the side of the cab as well.

Thanks Brian.

I can now announce a new addition to my collection 60100 Pride of Acton.

After consultation with Upnick I realised that the numbers on the otherside to the picture needs slight adjustment as the numbers are a little skew. Hopefully that will be sorted in the next few days.

Comments welcome.
