Hi,

I'm experiencing running issues on two locos that I have (Minitrix BR103 and Fleischmann BR216).

I recently added ballast to most of the layout - I've scrubbed and cleaned the track as best I can and I've 4 other locos that run fine, expect for these 2.

I also oiled the cogs in the bogies, but both these locos run for a second or two and then just stop. The other thing about the diesel, is that it runs better with the body off of it, as it can run about half the layout, but with the body on, it just stutters or doesn't move (even with directional lights on).

The motor in both are sealed - they have a circuit board soldered on top - so has anyone got any experience in how to resolve this!?! Help would be appreciated! Both locos are quite new and have had maybe 2 hrs running time between them both.

It may be oil has got onto the pickups- this is easily done, as I have found out myself. Try a small paintbrush dipped in isopropyl alcohol, the 98per cent one, and see if that helps.
