Found this fantastic video of scratchbuilt skyscrapers whilst I was looking for info on Tomix Track. Took four years to build and still expanding. The only thing missing is King Kong. :)

Hi all,
Yes, thanks for that poliss, excellent stuff - I had the sound off to start with but quickly thought it'd be even better with ambient noise
and there it was

This set me thinking and I've looked at some of the free download sites and although they have to be smaller scales for the skyscrapers there were some on http://www.ss42.com/pt-buildings.html that look fun.
I've always had a 'thing' for the Chrysler Building and the film 'Q - The Winged Serpent' (although quite gruesome for my tastes in parts) reinforced that so that's another distraction I now have for a rainy day, but not for the layout
. I was also distracted big time by the complete Hogwarts including Quidditch stadium and Hagrid's hut in N, I'm not sure if I'll ever find the time for that though
Anyone fancy incorporating that into a layout

On a slightly more practical note I've been looking for some kind of civic feature for my city centre and found 'Cleopatra's Needle' which is acceptably scaleable and will somehow - in the warped history of my layout, probably as part of some very dodgy dealing by Earl Solsbury himself - have found it's way to the top of Solsbury Hill.

Regards, Gerry.
