Need help with future projects

The first link it may be as well to drop them a mail as they seem to scratch or modify chassis's to ask if anyone has a diagram, the second link although DCC fitting may provide some reference.

Unfortunatly it looks like you were correct about the body being integrated with the chassis . I may still attemp to use it but may need a lot of careful planning to make it work.

I'm hopeful that the bachmann junior 0-4-0/ percy doesn't have the same chassis setup though

I have looked at thomas and it doesnt seem to bad the thing to be sure of is the wires are long enough to go through the components and not cut too short .... the authors comment "Nothing bigger than a 15 watt iron and around 6 and no more than 10 seconds applying heat." i wouldnt reccomend such a long time with an iron especially on motor brush hoods as it melts the housings .. i tin the wire then apply flux to both the wire and motor contact touching it with the iron for 2 sec if that as soon as it hisses usually the solder has melted suffieciently to join the parts .
I am not sure of the dimensions fo the digitrax DH121 but a good decoder to go for is the TCS M1 (£16.50) small two function easy to use and economical and ideal for OO the TCS site shows a T1 decoder (£11.50) fitted using a 9 pin socket which makes it even easier to convert , and several other thomas related engines on this link ... in the bachmann section.

thank you for the advice thats really good to know, but I just needed to find out the design of the chassis and motor on thomas to see if it was possible to use as a donor chassis for a new engine. unfortunatly it seems to be very difficult to modify as the body appears to be needed to force the motor down onto the chassis gears when the its all bolted together.

I'm still hopeful that the bachmann junior 0-4-0/ Percy is of a different design and can be used as a donor chassis
