I still need to add detailing to it but I need to paint some bits first but this will do for now as I can now complete laying the track now I know how big it really is

Thanks TFR... I have started to work on the concrete area and the inspection pits but Mr Todd keeps skyping me in an effort to delay my construction so I'm going to work all night

I'll post some photos tomorrow.

Hi Jimmy feel free to chip in

Julian I do use track pins to hold my track as the TrackLay is very flexible and so is the peco flexi track I'm useing so it does not hold its shape I'm sure on point areas and straight sections just sticking the tracklayer down would be fine but I'm sot sure about bends unless you are useing set track ?

I have re used loads of my track with the tracklay on it.

As for ballest I'm useing std and medium mixed as the fine is just a bit to small for me
one thing I would recommend is to wash your ballest if you are useing a stone one as it will have a dust power on it. I just used a very fine sieve and then dryer it in the oven for 10 mins as it will stick a lot better to the tracklay if you do.

As for droppers I have drilled a small hole through the tracklay on both sides of the track section I'll put up a photo later today to show this

Now as for ordering the chap who sells TrackLay has been I'll but his wife is taking orders over the phone so just leave a voice message and your number and she will ring you back it just might take a few days, have you worked out how many meters you need to order ?

Anyway feel free to drop me a line if you need anything else.

Now back to the garage .... As I'm fighting with the track in my TMD area this weekend

Not a lot of activity to report this week as its all been slow going, I am still working on getting the 4 main lines in as I want to start test running loco's
I have completed the main lines that run past the TMD area aswel as access to the TMD

I have also been working on the fueiling area and im going to put loco/dmu storage lines in and i will put them into a concrete base, I need a few sections of track to complete this so this wont get done until the weekend.

Once this section is complete I will be working on the station section to get the lines down.

Thanks for the feedback guys....

I am trying to keep all the open track sweeping and the hidden track no tighter than a 3rd radius curve on the inside line so that the outer lines have shallower curves.

I'm away for the rest of this week so no more work on the layout this week but I am now ready to start on the 11ft station section this area has a 3ft section at each end for the lead in and lead out lines.

I'm hoping to fit 4 11ft platforms that can take 8 full length 125's and 11 car Pendolinio's and at least 2 short platform's for single and 2 car DMU/EMU platforms fingers crossed

I'll post photos as I go along.

Thanks ray I can't remember who it was but someone on the forums told me to use a track setter when laying track with points to make sure the lead in and out sections are lined up right and I'm sure that's why they seem to work well

Guy,

I have only just started to use them as I was unsure for a while but I have to say I'm glad I finaly did it, I'm only just putting them on the wagon rakes and not each wagon at the moment.

Hi Chris, the new Hornby 67's are very nice they have a really nice weight to them and they run very very smooth, I also have the new EWS version too.

I have made some changes to the track in my TMD area I needed to simplify the area and provide a bit more ground space for a road access area on the left, I do find double slips very handy for condensing point work.

This also allowed me to complete the refuelling area.

Still a lot of work to do in this area but this does allow me to start testing the track work before I move into the detailing activity.
