Can anyone tell me if these updated loco's will have updated directional lighting?
I have e-mailed Hornby direct, but they have not replied.

It is sincerely hoped that Hornby will reduce the noise level generated by the Lima EWS model and most important, that the Pancake motor is replaced with a better quality motor.

Well, according to the Hornby catalogue, motors in the ex-Lima product will be "5-pole skew-wound",so I think that addresses your concerns....

for me the biggest improvements will be the new motor and use of nickel silver wheels (admittedly used on some late lima models) as i get fed up of cleaning the old type ones and that goes for heljan too! I would assume there will be some form of directional lighting even if only in basic form ie similar to the hornby hst's
