Hi All,

I'm looking for new layout ideas/plans for a potential HO American layout, approx space i have is 13ft X 3 - 4 ft wide or as narrow a width i can get away with to turn around six axle diesels in without the track being on the edge of the boards.
An NCE powercab to run it with more than one level possibly focussing on an industrial theme giving plenty of interest, built in three modules end to end to allow easy transortation.
Would the insulation used for building i am using for scenery on ''Morganth'' be suitable for a base laminate with thin ply either side to provide a light base and what could i use as a glue to bond the ply to the foam ?

I'd suggest some of the Kalmbach planning books, which Steam Powered Video SPV sell in the UK, as inspiration. Pick out some bits you like and stick them together.

If you want a loop, as your post seems to suggest it is going to be a bit tight for 6 axle diesels but manageable as it's just the overhang that will be a problem. If you 'bury' the tight curves in an industrial canyon then it will look better if that worries you. There have been some good 4x8 layouts in Model Railroader over the years which have a backscene down the centre so you have two 2ft deep scenes, something along these lines could be stretched to suit?
http://www.railpictures.net/ is a good US site to surf for photos as they have hundreds taken in industrial locations with modern 6 axle power.
