<{POST_SNAPBACK}>There is one due from Dapol so a bit of unnecessary duplication...
Having now gone for a proper read, it is clear that Accurascale were well underway on this before Dapol announced, and as evidence already have a good looking EP to show. Just an unfortunate coincidence.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>...A Black Five would be a better choice IMO as the Hornby 2002 tooling is getting a bit long in the tooth and not cutting it against more recent offerings. Then there is the K4 2-6-0 that seems to be constantly ignored.
Given Hornby's regularly demonstrated counter-insurgency tendencies, my instinct would be to steer clear of these! And while they haven't offered a K4 - yet - they are some way toward it with the closely related K1, which is a very good model. Would you bet against Hornby not having measured up a K4, given their liking for named locos?
Not that I disagree about the Black Five, and would put the 8F in the same category; both lagging well behind the best of both Hornby's and competitor models. (I still laugh at recollection of the fuss over the small underboiler intrusion on the Oxford Rail Radial tank: just look at the huge lump on view on the 8F, garnished with a sizeable spinning and shiny gear shaft end, to definitely make sure you notice it!)
