Many years ago I did see a plastic paint stripper on the market. It was like a paste that you paint on the model then stick it in a plastic bag over night before washing it off. Seem to remember it worked reasonably well...

Nitromoor will melt the plastic body. Steer well clear unless you like the nightmare in a wax museum look...
