If you have ever chipped a loco that requires the wire to be wrapped around a chassis screw or retainer .. for example the Bachman/Farish split type chassis at times once the screw has been tightened over time it may come lose or break off ... yesterday after looking in my box i came across some left over peco tags just the right size to fit the screws tinned and soldered on to the wire they are perfect for the job bend over toward the centre of chassis and your done a superior connection with little effort

Reminds me i have a bogie that needs attention in a similar way the lug broken off one side ....... i always keep bits and bobs that may come in after several conversions to DCC a bag has been consigned to the box for later use .
Also a collection of dc boards last week i was fitting an NCE drop in board to a GP-40 an easy project until the motor tags were found to be short of fitting through the slots provided for positive location, out with the K&S brass sheet (0.05) two thin strips to fit the width of the slots were cut using Xuron etched cutters and soldered to the end of the motor contacts overly long threaded through the board, when i was happy the decoder was snug and in place bend out the contacts from the centre and clip off any excess leaving enough to make a good connection.
