Non Fare paying passenger!

Imagine what can be found UNDER the baseboard sometimes
.



An arachnid passenger on a friends P4 layout in West Australia... and thats actually quite a small one!

Richard, I had to copy the http part to the main URL section to be able to see the passenger.
Mmmmmm - would give anyone a fright when the wagon comes out of a tunnel with that on board.

We don't get them that big here, but the little ones make lots of web.

I too use a spider spray around the scenery to prevent them putting up web everywhere.

looking on the positive side, is it a non paying passemger or in fact the workman catching a ride to unload the wagon at its destination?

Just getting slightly off topic but the guys were talking this morning about a huge python snake they nearly ran over. They were going out to a remote relay station and on the road basking in the sun was a python 7-8 metres long and they could tell it had just had a meal.

We have a snake lover on our team who wanted to straight out and catch it to bring home. Not for me!

i think we are all going to think of that picture the next time we reach into a tunnel to retrieve a derailed loco!

Those big spiders have very good eyesight If they see you they normally run away

In a rental house, I had a laundry at the back of the house it was always populated by 5 or 6 of the little beasties
as soon as you came in they would run for cover

Its the little Black ones with the red stripe you have to worry about they love to live in sheds and tunnels and will bite

***They have a bad habit of getting in places they shouldn't be, and I have little love for spiders big enough that you can hear them walking up the wall if the room is quiet... About ten years ago I had one emerge from the divers side sun visor and drop squarely into the centre of the steering wheel. An interesting experience in self control when on the freeway even when you know they don't bite unless annoyed...

This is a bit too close to the bone for me. I think these thoughts everytime I do. We have loads of huntsman spiders round and probaly in our garage.
