Hi All.
I emailed Heljan in Denmark the other day inquiring about a product, and a very helpful customer service rep. advised that if any of us would like certain models to be considered for production in 'O'gauge - 1:43.5 scale, we just need to drop them an email with our wish list for consideration. I suggested that as Heljan was already manufacturing a Class 73 diesel electric in 'OO' 4 m.m. scale, perhaps an 'O' gauge version could be a consideration, along with a Class 24 following on from the Class 25 that they produce. As Heljan is re-running the Class 33 in original and modified form, a couple of extra diesels that are/were used on the Southern Region wouldn't go amiss. The Heljan rep. said 'watch this space' in the reply. No guarantees of course, but maybe a short email to them wouldn't hurt? I have joined the 'O' gauge fraternity rather late, but the excellent ready to run models so far available - locos, diesels, goods vehicles and coaches - are excellent in my opinion. Tower Models advised me a year or so ago that the Class 33 was a slow seller, but way before Heljan advised of the re-run, you couldn't find a new one available in any model railway shop in the U.K. (or abroad), and availability of used examples was slim to none. Cheers, EW.
