Hello again folks,

My second query as a new entrant to the world of O-gauge

Looking for a diesel driver (standing) and second-man (if appropriate) and shunter (with or without pole) for Dapol 08.

I have seen some by Detailed Miniatures (painted) and some by Modelu3d (unpainted) but I wondered whether there were any other alternatives.

Ideally, I'd like them pre-painted.

Kind regards,

Art

I am rather disappointed that having posted this query nearly 4 weeks ago it has generated precisely zero replies, yet has 42 'views'.

Has nobody on this forum got any suggestions?

Try www.smartmodels.co.uk

He recently announced that he was doing diesel drivers, basically from waist up in all sizes including O gauge. These are unpainted and seem good value at £2. He may be able to do variations.

I must say that I am surprised your post has not produced any response. I don't often look at the O gauge section of this web site but I would have thought that there must be suppliers other than the two you mention,

Have you tried any of the specialist O Gauge suppliers www.tower-models.com for example or looked in the small ads of any of the model magazines. A general search for O scale model figures on the net seems to produce a lot of results

LOL - thanks for the reply anyhow!

Will take a look at them, thanks Peter. I don't recall seeing any figures on the Tower models website so looking at them now.

Cheers,

Art

EDIT: Couldn't see anything on Tower Models website

Thank you Richard.

BTW, do DCC Concepts do much in the way of O-gauge stuff (apart from the multi-gauge rolling road)?

*** Not really Art. O is, to us, still a little short on potential for sales volumes.

All of our electronics / turnout motors etc are of course relatively universal, and we do a high power (3amp, 5 amp max) decoder, but in general we tend to focus on OO and HO - we just can't do everything.

regards

*** Their "Mastering" is a digital scan. Scaling is a data change only for the 3D printer. Modelus abilities are much wider than the "Stock" items on their website.

Hello Art.

As an 'O' gauge newcomer myself, I bookmarked a number of 'O' scale sites on my computer showing various products manufactured specifically for 1:43.5 scale. If you check the Dart Castings site and click on 'Monty's 'O' gauge figures', there are a few options that may suit what you are looking for. They produce a white metal diesel driver sitting and standing, plus many other options for steam loco operations. They possibly provide painted figures as well as the unpainted shown on their site. Their prices are very reasonable. A contact request may provide better info. Hope this helps? EW

Thanks Ed.

There are, as you say, several sites that supply O-gauge figures - the most extensive being Modelu3d < link here >.

I am currently getting some figures painted by Claudia Everett - here is a link to some Instagram pictures showing her work < link here >

Hope this helps,

Art
