QUOTE (Ozzie21 @ 27 Oct 2008, 12:45) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Neil, it' s Hobby Colour light earth for the sleepers and Tamiya german red brown for the rails. Both theese paints are acryllic water based. I just spray everything with the light earth first and then the rails with the red brown. I don't worry to much about the over spray as it darkens the light earth up and gives the sleepers a more bleached effect.

Thanks for that Charles. That's fairly close to what I've been using Tamiya red brown and flat brown. I'll get some of that as yours looks better than mine.

Cheers

QUOTE (Ozzie21 @ 30 Mar 2009, 15:02) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Neil,Yes it used to rain every time we went to Troon to play but Prestwick was always okay.
Hmm first train running should be sometime in the not so distant future

Yes, Charles, where I lived in Leven and St Andrews it rained almost daily.

I seem to remember that Prestwick has very clear skies.

Look forward to seeing some trains when you get there.

cheers

QUOTE (Ozzie21 @ 28 Apr 2014, 10:40) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Neil,thanks for the comments. When I go back next time I should be making turnouts but I haven't decided whether to go with a No6 or a No5 in the yard. It depends on the big steamers as to how easy they navigate a tighter turnout. If I'm still thinking about that I may lay a bity more wood work, get rid of the 2x2's and fit the "C" channel.
Then if I get time I may make a start on working up to the top deck. We shall see as there is a fair amount of scenery to do plus the backscene and I still have two industrial areas to do as well. Ohh I'm getting a headache

Yes Charles, you've certainly got a lot of work to do there. If you do country scenery you could grassmaster a fair bit of it quickly though. Probably the quickest and cheapest way to cover a big area.

Cheers
