Title says it all really - started to build some stuff and my interest is around construction of buildings/scenery rather than accurate detail to rolling stock etc. - but of course it needs to fit the context. Also enjoy ww2 armoured vehicles in 1/72 and appears to be loads of common ground in terms of techniques, scenariors. All comments gratefully received - if its old ground to most of you then its possibly new to me so just post it anyway and the experts can click elsewhere.

cheers

Hi Dave,

Welcome to the forum, I, too, am predominantly a scenic modeller who actually likes trains in the scenery rather than scenery round the trains!!

Hi Dave,

Welcome to the forum. Unlike the others, railway operation is more important to me than scenery but I've done my share in the past and enjoy looking at what other people get up to in this area.

All - many thanks for your responses and its good to gain info:

To start the ball rolling is it worthwhile breaking this into 3 bits?

- options for construction of ho/oo builds
/lineside stuff ie. techically advanced scaling and detailing - stuff we see in the Magazines.
- non-expert and I'm sure the railway press revamp this - but not basics. Buildings - whats out there?
- make your own/scratchbuild - options and feasibility

Let me know

Hi Dave,

It would probably be best to post individually in the tracks, layouts and scenery section. Just ask a specific question and wait for the variuos answers and opinions to come rolling in!
