QUOTE (zmil @ 20 Oct 2008, 10:50) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Hi All

I don't think the smoke fluid used in smoke units is harmful - it would not pass health regulations

it is an very light water soluble oil based vapour -similar to what gets used in Stage/Lighting production or Disco smoke machines.

***Not directly mortal but not helpful to overall comfort levels either.

High concentrations of anything made up of airborne particulates and that also replaces much of the normal breathable stuff becomes uncomfortable: Even as a smoker I find too much loco Smoke unpleasant.

I have less than fond memories of too much stage smoke in a confined space on several occasions!

QUOTE (zmil @ 20 Oct 2008, 19:56) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Funny about that - I found it was always the "smokers" that complained the most about the "smoke"
Singing smokers were the worst!

Payback for all the Passive smoking I had to endure in Clubs and Pubs

***Its because we have no lungs left :).

But... Nothing all that healthy about the added glycol in the smoke oil that used to be used before health and safety took a closer look! Made for some seriously heavy smoke effects though!

Actually most of the stage & sound guys I knew from music and other industries that used staged presentations all smoked... they just preferred those spiky leaved lawn clippings! The butts were often to be found tucked into the top of the guitar necks for easy retrieval at any quiet moment... stopped them getting sweaty

Fortunately we all enjoyed good scotch more! Always happy times!

PS: Johnsons baby oil is an OK substitute for Seuthe oil if you run out - smells better too !

***I wish

No unfortunately - my only relationship is that I like many others had it rubbed on the appropriate places when too small to play trains!
