I have the same problem. Out of the four sets of lights, both white and red, only one remains working. I bought the Hornby DCC version and pulled the Hornby decoder in the motorised end and replaced it with a Lenz Gold. I cannot programme the hornby function decoder in the unmotorised end as it is not regognised as DCC, Selectrix or Motorola. Once I get time I will rewire the circuits inside however this thing has wasted enough of my time already and I am not currently motivated to waste anymore.
