A friendly forum member has already suggested I park this loco on a shelf or else keep it for dc only but
just to check - is it worthwhile to fit a decoder.......
I understand the loco is very old, has tender drive and only on two axles at that.
What do you think, hang on to the lolly for a better loco !

Check the stall current, then look at decoder specs. for a suitable decoder.
I hope that you weren't wearing a backpack when you filmed that loco.

If it runs OK then go ahead. There is just about room in the tender with a little bit of juggling for the decoder.

I have a later issue one with the Boxpok wheels & although nowhere near as powerful as a Roco or Fleischmann its not a bad loco.

The current Roco model (drives on the tender and the driving wheels) is superb though, far, far better but more money.
